OB-GYN Jobs Forecast

Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the most in-demand specialties today. This trend is only expected to continue, with demand projected to increase by 4% over the next five years.
This translates into a significant need for more OB-GYNs and sub-specialists, including Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians, OB Hospitalists, OB Nocturnists, certified nurse midwives, Gynecologic Oncologists, OB-GYN residency faculty and OB medical directors, as well as OB nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
There are up to 8,000 fewer OB-GYNs than needed, according to The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and that number may rise to 22,000 by 2050.
